AP Bhavan in Delhi is status symbol for Telugu people. It is considered as property of Andhra Pradesh Government in Delhi. AP bhavan is located in 19.84 acres of land in New Delhi. AP Bhavan has suites for the Governor and Chief Minister apart from other rooms. It has accommodation, canteen and auditorium in the premises. AP Bhavan came into being in 1956. Now it’s the question AP Bhavan belongs to whose property after the division of the state. Telangana Government has strongly committed to get AP Bhavan in Delhi. It seems that AP Bhavan will goes to Telangana. The reason behind that AP Chief Minister CBN has decided to construct new AP Bhavan. CBN had met officials of National Building Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC) in September this year and ordered the plans to construct new building for Andhra Pradesh in Delhi. NBCC is one of the Navaratnas of India. As per Telangana bill, Andhra Pradesh should get 10.6 acres where as 8.4 acres goes to Telangana state. Even after the construction AP Bhavan has still 11 acres remain unused. As per the sources, that AP Government is ready to leave existing AP Bhavan or expressed its willingness to share the land equally after demolishing the existing one. Reportedly, CBN has planned to construct 200 rooms of guest house and along with 2000 seating capacity of convention centre.
