It looks like the Telangana state CM K Chandra Shekhar Rao is all set to don the role of an integrationist but for different reasons. Soon KCR would have to work hard to keep Telangana United! This is the feeling many are getting looking at the proceedings in the assembly.
Today’s assembly sessions saw harsh statements from Congress leaders of Mahabubnagar like DK Aruna and Chinna Reddy who questioned TRS over injustice to South Telangana in terms of new projects, development works and ministries.
Chinna Reddy questioned why should they be fine with the water rejuvenation mission for lakes called Kakatiya Mission when they have only been ruled by Gadwal, Vanaparthy and Kollapur Samsthanams.
They asked TRS government over being insensitive to sentiments of South Telangana districts like Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar. In reality, there is a significant difference between the culture and approach of north and south Telangana so this would be a challenge to KCR.
