Earlier, one or two planes come to the Airport in Gannavaram. Now, for every 30 minutes landing and take-off of the planes happened in Gannavaram. It seems Private Airlines have showed very much interest to start their operations in new capital of AP. Gannavaram Airport will turns to be the busiest in the state. Private Airline companies in India have applied for the permissions to Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to run their services from Vijayawada. Some of the companies have received permissions from DGCA.
They are ready to run their services from Gannavaram. Turbo Civil Aviation Private Limited is ready to start its operations from Vijayawada. The company requested the Airport officials for the provision of “BAY” parking in Airport. Reportedly, they agreed the request of the company because of its running small airplanes.
Indigo Airlines has looking towards Vijayawada and seek the details of the traffic in Gannavaram Airport from the authorities. Currently, Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Air Coasta and Air India are rendering their services from Gannavaram. DGCA expected another three private airlines would start from Gannavaram.
