In a surprising new demand, the Temples Protection Movement has reportedly urged the Telangana government to take up immediate steps for seeking the Religious Charitable Endowments Funds from Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD). Out of this, the Telangana state government's share is estimated be Rs 1,000 crore. In a press release, the committee’s convenor MV Soundararajan has reportedly urged that there has to be a discussion or resolution in the TS legislative assembly to get the arrears. This is before omitting the sections that are linked to TTD from AP Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987(Telangana Adaptation Order) 2014. If these arrears are recovered, the amount could be spent for the welfare of Archakas and also revive the temples system in the state. The committee also requested the government to create a strong Telangana Dharmika Parishad with eminent people. While the main issues such as power, water, government employee transfer are still in a deadlock, it has to be seen how this issue is going to be resolved.
