AP CM Chandrababu Naidu’s Delhi tour on Sankranthi day seems to have bore fruit for the State. There are reports that a Rs. 9,000 Crore capital city-connectivity project in the state has been approved by the Centre. The Union transport ministry would be undertaking the conversion-cum-development of 642 kilometre of roads which would connect the capital city on Vijayawada-Guntur stretch from the districts of Kadapa and Anantapur districts into National Highways. It has to be remembered that Rayalaseema and Vijayawada enjoy better connectivity to Hyderabad than Vijayawada and AP hopes that these expressways would create new benefits and new opportunities for connectivity and development along with the development of capital. The 32-km stretch of road between Vijayawada and Guntur cities is also being expanded while the expansion entails the stretch between Anantapur to Vijayawada and Guntur for 516.5 km. This would be a big boost to transport and travel.
