There seems to be more than what meets the eye with respect to the recent decision by Supreme Court in granting bail to the mining baron and ex Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy in terms of the Obulapuram illegal mining case.
The Central Bureau of Investigation, which had probed the scam, surprisingly didn’t raise any objections to the bail petition of Gali, saying that investigation in this case involving Reddy has been completed.
And both the charge-sheet and also the supplementary charge-sheets were filed. Chief Justice H L Dattu added that since the investigating agency now has no objection in granting bail, they are now granting bail to him.
But the grapevine is that Gali’s godmother and Telangana’s Chinnamma Sushma Swaraj had reportedly used her influence to ensure that the CBI dilutes its investigation in the OMC case followed by his return to BJP is he is cleared of the charges.
