There may be no immediate prospects of recovery for Andhra Pradesh Congress but this hasn’t suppressed the internal caste war which is raging in Congress party. Sources say that Chiru and Botsa have already issued calls for the cadre.
And they have reportedly communicated to party high command that they won’t be supporting the party’s candidate Sridevi who has been fielded in Tirupathi bypoll, which was necessitated due to the death of TDP sitting MLA Venkataramana.
The Kapu leaders in Congress feel that when Shobha Nagireddy passed away and bypoll was held in Allagadda, there was no candidate fielded, apparently due to PCC chief Raghuveera Reddy and other leaders who are seen favouring Reddys.
Now Botsa and Chiru have questioned the rationale of Congress fighting bypolls in Tirupathi as they feel that PCC chief wants to fight against TDP candidate Sugunamma here, because she is a kapu. They are enraged that if it was a Reddy candidate, then Congress would have stayed away citing the regular trend of supporting unanimous candidature in the event of a sitting MLA’s death.
