AP Government is in hurry to move the Government offices to temporary capital in Vijayawada and Guntur. Chief Minister CBN said that offices will temporarily shifted by the end of July this year. Some of the key offices of Municipal ministry might be shifted to Guntur. They are in search of suitable places to shift. They found one building in Guntur Mirchi yard that was not used past several months.
As per the sources, municipal offices shifted to farmers information centre in Guntur Mirchi yard. Currently, this building is under the control of Agricultural ministry. Municipal Minister Narayana made an appeal to Agriculture minister Pulla Rao in this regard. There are no activities from Agriculture department that take place in newly constructed building.
Office of the Department of Municipal Affairs, Engineers-in-Chief, DTPC and APIDC will be shifted to Guntur. Officials also look into the possibility to establish some offices in Red Tank building. Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) was started this red tank four years back and finished partly. Offices of both Municipal and Agriculture ministry’s will be moved to Guntur.
