The controversial FAST (Financial Assistance for Students of Telangana) scheme that drew flak from the court and also other sections considered as a parochial move for benefitting only students of Telangana state, has reportedly been given a silent burial .
Chief minister KCR had revealed on Friday in an official announcement that the government would be now following the old fee reimbursement scheme.
Briefing the media after an -hour marathon meeting of cabinet, KCR said there were some extensive discussions on the FAST scheme and finally the government has decided to remove all the confusion over this scheme and in order over possible anguish caused to students and parents they have decided to revert to the old fee reimbursement program.
The government's move clears all confusion over eligibility of students from AP for this fee reimbursement scheme. As per earlier guidelines of this scheme, any student who would have studied consecutively in the region of Telangana for seven years becomes eligible for fee reimbursement.
