It is a known fact that finance commission plays a key role in formulating budgetary allocation and assessments and currently it is termed the 14th finance commission, which had also toured AP and TS few months back.

As part of its recommendations to the Union budget, the finance commission has recommended an assistance of 30,000 crores per annum to Andhra Pradesh which amounts to 1,50,000 crores for a five year period.

It has also suggested additional allocations for building the new capital for Andhra Pradesh at a rate of 20,000 crores per annum in addition to 5000 crores allocated in previous midterm budget.

They have also suggested an award of 7000 crores every year to AP as a special provision. If the report is indeed accepted and auctioned, then it would give a fillip to AP for sure. But given the fund crunch in the center, it has to be seen how much will be fulfilled.
