In what could be a novel initiative, media reports say the Narendra Modi government has recently appointed senior Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officials attached with the Indian embassies as India’s commercial ambassadors of abroad.

They are all set to identify and develop global hubs in India and in this regard the Centre has zeroed in on three districts of AP namely Nellore, Chittoor and Visakhapatnam for attracting foreign investments there after the state government’s recommendation.

After finishing their maiden training session in Delhi, the central team would be visiting Nellore on Tuesday and then would visit Chittoor as well as Visakhapatnam districts during next two days.

Ramakrishnan, the first secretary at Indian embassy in Manila (Philippines), is reportedly leading the team which is attached to AP. There are many expectations over this committee and how they would be projecting these regions in AP for attracting world-class industries and manufacturing units.
