The Union Budget for the year 2015-16 tabled in Parliament a short while ago is a complete disappointment for Andhra Pradesh state. The truncated state had pinned high hopes on this budget to steer it out of the trouble amid deficit revenue and huge task of building a state capital but all of the hopes were shattered.

There is no mention about the helping hand from the center to the construction of the state capital. Jaitley announced that the center will give special financial assistance to Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar but did not announce the quantum of help in his budget speech or the statement that was put up later.

The Special Status of 10 years promised by BJP was also forgotten and it got no mention in the budget. Finance Minister just announced that the central government is committed to fulfill all the promises made to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the State Reorganization Act. A similar statement he made during the tabling of interim budget last year.

It is now confirmed that Andhra Pradesh will have to steer on its own amid all these huge challenges. The center is in no mood of helping the truncated state for reasons best known to them. Now all eyes are on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. There are lot of questions regarding the future of the state!
