Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu has attempted to relieve the feelings of Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu that the State got an unfair treatment in the Union budget by asking the latter to arrange a meeting with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to address his injustice.

The Union Minister said he asked Mr. Chandrababu Naidu not to air his problem publicly after the latter had showed sadness that the State was neither allotted special category status nor funds. On the other hand, the CM was told to share with Mr. Jaitley how much the State awaited as help and what it really got.

At the same time, Mr. Naidu told he had also guided Telangana CM to take up his grouse that the State did not get sufficient to fund programs under the Integrated Child Development Scheme funds.

The Union Minister accepted that the Rs.100 cores allocations for Polavaram project in the budget was scanty and needed. “Yes, it is a matter of concern to me also.” But, the project could have received more allotment if the detailed project report was prepared and presented to the Centre.
