'City of Pearls' has arose as the number one city in India when it comes to providing the top quality of living standards in Mercer's Quality of Living Report 2015 that was released on Wednesday .

Positioned 138th worldwide by the Mercer report, Hyderabad defeated Pune (145th) to the top rank in India and left India's IT hub Bangalore (146th), Chennai (151st), commercial capital Mumbai (152nd) and India's political capital New Delhi (154th) behind in the quality of living sweepstakes.

Indian cities have not created much development on the quality of living scale, obtaining almost the same as they did previous year. Nevertheless, over time, Hyderabad has came out as a city of choice because of elements like improved alternatives for international schools, also the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport provides a good range of international flights, which enhances its positioning on account of public services, the release said.

The survey took into account criterion like political and social environment, medical care and health, public services, recreation facilities and natural environment among others in making the report, Mercer said in a release.
