Considering the rising swine flu cases in Telangana, the government has furnished an advisory against mass assembling for Holi, while doctors in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh sought people to take care in view of the fatally viral eruption.

With H1N1 positive instances yet in double digits in Hyderabad where 45 out of 56 positive cases were reported on Wednesday, officials alerted locals against crowd accumulating.

“We do not want to spoil their joy but in the larger interest of public health it is better if they keep away from gatherings, especially those suffering from symptoms like cough, cold, fever and body aches,” said Dr G Srinivas, special officer on swine flu, Telangana.

This year, there are a few people who prefer to shop online fearing the H1N1 virus. Swine flu death toll has reached 1,075 and nearly 20,000 people have tested positive for the virus in India. Dr Suneetha Nareddy, infection medicine specialist, Apollo Hospitals, specified out to the probability of H1N1 virus escalating during Holi as human to human contact during the celebrations is threatening.
