Post-bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh is all set for taking its first step towards getting some of the premier educational institutions as promised during the process of state division.
HRD minister Smriti Irani
Union HRD minister Smriti Irani would
be laying foundation stones and launch the works for an IIT, IIIT and IISER on
March 28th in the presence of
CM Chandrababu Naidu with all the three institutes actually coming up in
Chittoor, his native district.
The IIT will be coming up in 590 acres at Meralapaka village of Yerpedu mandal while IIT, Madras, will be mentoring the new institution. The IIIT would be started on 70 acres at Sri City in Satyavedu mandal of whih would initially focus on creating wi-fi network within the Sri City.
The IISER is coming up
The IISER is coming up on 300 acres in Jangalapalli village of Yerpedu mandal which focuses on research and creating knowledge in the areas of ESDM (Electronic System Design & Manufacturing) as well as automotive electronics, data analytics, cloud computing, supply chain & logistics, technologies for smart cities, clean energy and aerospace.
