The Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to be making a plan for a much more independent India. Speaking about the energy security, at Urja Sangam-2015, Modi said that it is time to make India more independent in this issue. Arun Jaitley even stressed about the same.

Modi said " We need to be independent when it comes to providing our people with sufficient energy." He also asked to the rich people to surrender their fuel subsidy government program. Modi said " People who do not need cooking gas and are capable of paying the required money, please do surrender the facility and be a part of the movement. This will benefit the poor a lot."

Modi also added " More than 2.8 lakh consumers have given up the subsidy which will save more than Rs 100 crore for the Central government." He pledged of bringing down the imports of gas and oil by 67 % by 2022 and gradually decrease by 2033. So, this is what the plan for an independent India is being sorted out by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
