There are many challenges which AP is facing now and one of the key demands to offset for the loss of bifurcation of AP is a separate Railway zone at Vishakapatnam.
A separate zone which includes the three divisions of AP- Guntakal, Guntur and Waltair would be an asset to the state in terms of revenue mobilization, jobs and execution of projects.
Even from identity point of view, the demand to have separate zone with Vizag as the headquarters has been there for more than 15 years and was listed in the promises made during AP’s bifurcation last year.
There has been mixed reports at various occasions, one day that it would happen and other day that it is not possible. But yesterday AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and today BJP leader, considered close to Modi, Venkaiah Naidu revealed very clearly that a separate zone is all set to happen anytime soon and some hinted that to happen in April.
