The Ace badminton player who hails Hyderabad made her own mark in the field of Sports is now standing quite high breaking all records and graced the No.1 Badminton Player throne. She chased her dream of becoming the World No.1 one day and she is the first woman badminton player of India to have achieved this.


After 35 years of long wait, Saina Nehwal made India to stand high once again after Prakash Padukone who was the World No.1 in 1980. Her career started off a decade ago has witnessed many victories and many downfalls but she went ahead learning her flaws and she is now the World No.1.


However, when she knew about her position, she said " I'm unable to believe, let me give me a pinch. " She added " I always dreamt of becoming the No.1 , three times I secured the second position but still had a feeling that some day I have to be the No.1."


In Olympics Saina bagged a Bronze Medal. She was awarded the Arjuna award in 2009, Rajeev Khel Ratna Award in 2010 and Padmashri in 2010. This is a proud moment to every Indian and Saina we wish you many more successes your way!
