Prime Minister Narendra Modi right after becoming Prime Minister, grandly launched Swach Bharat abhiyan on Oct 2nd, Gandhi Jayanthi to make India clean and green. It at once got tremendous response as he started nominating celebrities for the program. Many people however started ignoring the program and its good intent after doing some photo ops.

Even government servants too started ignoring the program started to make India cleaner. However five member team of civil servants is going on the first All India Services expedition to Mt. Everest and will be carrying the banner 'Swach Bharat'. The team of Saroj Kumari (2011 batch IPS), S. Prabhakaran, (2011 batch IFS), Vikram Jindal (2012 batch IAS) and Suhail Sharma (2012 batch IPS) led by Ravindra Kumar, an IAS officer of 2011 batch are taking this event to celebrate the the golden jubilee of the first-ever Indian expedition to Mt. Everest in 1965.

Team recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he congratulated the team for its unique mission. He hoped that their mission will inspire many more in the coming days. Some right thinking people and supporters of BJP led Modi government feel sky is the limit for Modi's Swach Bharat program and said all cutting across political differences should participate in the program.
