Surely this can be termed a sensation by the decision of the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that came to force last midnight. The decision was to collect taxes from the vehicles that entered Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.

It seems the officials started imposing this from midnight and collected Rs 50 lakhs at Nagarjuna Sagar Check Post and Rs 61 lakh at Mahaboob Nagar Check Post. That means they have collected more than a crore in just 12 hours from private vehicles.

However courting this issue, the private buses halted on the highway blocked the traffic on Vijaywada highway. The Telangana govt. is charging Rs 2600 per seat for three months and Rs 8 lakhs per year for multi-axle buses which have 52 seats.

Meanwhile, the court took over the issue and granted a stay to this tax collection. It is known that there will huge traffic from AP to TS everyday and so banking on the issue, KCR wants to make money. But 1 crore in 12 hours is a sensation!
