More and more students from AP seem to be vying for seats in educational institutions based in Telangana, which has now calmed down the fears of college managements over a perceived drop in enrolments this year after bifurcation.
Sources say that more than 30,000 students from AP have submitted applications for medical stream that would conducted by the Telangana government whereas more 10,000 have reportedly applied for engineering.
These numbers have reportedly brought some relief to the engineering and medical college managements which had predicted a drastic fall in demand for these seats. It is a known fact that Telangana has the best of engineering colleges in Telugu speaking states, with many reputed institutions based on Hyderabad, including reputed medical colleges.
Students from AP who are applying for seats in Telangana would be competing for the 15% seats that are earmarked for open competition. Close to three lakh students will be taking Eamcet examination from both states.
