Telangana government once again had to face the ire of Hyderabad High Court for its delaying tactics over the conducting of GHMC elections. The government reported to the high court that it will need at least 6 months to complete the delimitation of GHMC wards and conduct the elections. However the high court is not at all happy with the response.

"Will you conduct the elections? or do we need to interfere in the conducting of elections?" questioned the high court to Telangana's Attorney General. However the AG brought to the notice of the court that conducting GHMC elections is an issue of the state election commission and the courts can not take up the elections.

For which the court seriously replied, "So what? Courts even have the power to summon the Election Commission also if needed". The high court will decide on Monday if the delimitation will need six month time on. Since its inception, Telangana Rashtra Samiti is very weak in GHMC area where the settlers are the dominant force.

The ruling party is trying to buy as much as time possible for the GHMC elections to consolidate in the settlers but the court is not allowing it enough time. Recently the ruling government failed to win the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar MLC seat which further put it on back foot over the GHMC elections.
