AP Government has procured 30K acres of land under CRDA purview for the construction of its new capital through land pooling. Farmers of few villages haven’t agreed to give their lands and went to the court against CRDA. Farmers made a complaint that Government forcefully taking their lands.
5 farmers and National Alliance Peoples Moment Organization have approached state Apex court against CRDA. They requested the court to say “illegal” on CRDA Act. AP Advocate General argued that these farmers are against to land pooling, so the Government has decided to procure land as per land acquisition act.
High Court gave interim orders the farmers not to sell or lease or for agreements with other parties on their lands. HC allowed that farmers can cultivate land till AP Government procured through land acquisition. Farmers not expected or convinced with HC orders. Farmers seek enjoy the market value for their lands without losing ownership. It seems that HC Interim Orders forced them to go for land pooling.
