The growing hostility between the TDP and BJP in AP has now reportedly resulted in an understanding wherein the saffron party will be going easy over its proposed agitations against the Pattiseema lift irrigation project. Sources say that this silence comes at a price which is not that difficult for TDP to fulfill.
BJP is demanding MLC
BJP is demanding MLC seats and some nominated posts in AP’s public sector bodies. The BJP, had recently embarrassed the TDP by making public the issue of drought situation in Rayalaseema region and hadalso threatened agitation against the Pattiseema project, which Naidu is expediting.
In this regard, TDP would be setting up coordination committees at three levels that were approved by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu who did this from China, where he is currently on a tour. As part ofpre—election understanding, TDP offered three MLC seats to BJP in case the party came to power.

TDP has now come to this compromise because BJP's stand would be giving credence to YSCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy's on going campaign against the project. Therefore in return for BJP’s silence, Naidu seems to have given them a carrot which is very much sweetening,proving that AP BJP can be managed easily by Naidu.
