Finally, AP Police dared to arrest international kingpin in red sandalwood smuggling Sounder Rajan in West Bengal. 25 Task Force Police went to West Bengal to arrest Sounder Rajan after getting information from Smugglers in Chittoor district. Sounder Rajan is staying in village Jaigaon in West Bengal which is the border to Bhutan.
As per WB police, this is very dangerous village. AP Police went into the village at the time sun setting in the evening. Villagers put off the power and were tried to attack on AP Police. AP Police sent the information to WB police for assistance. WB police responded to AP’s request and 50 Police went to the village to arrest Sounder Rajan.
That made it possible for AP Police to arrest the Sounder Rajan and seize the 316 logs of Red Sandalwood from the godowns. After getting information from Sounder Rajan, AP police raided in Chennai and seized 3.5 tons of Red Sandalwood. AP Police seized 13 tons of Red Sandalwood in one day from two states. Police has planned to bring Sounder Rajan to AP on Transit Warrant.
