The Opposition party of Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress party seems to be standing in the mid-way without the GO 44 being passed. This GO will delegate the powers of the local bodies present to the district collectors. Opposing this thought which is against the decentralization and empowerment of Panchayat, YSRCP demands the government to withdraw it immediately.
The YSR Congress Party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said " We demand that the GO 44 should be immediately withdrawn without any second thought. This GO will give sweeping powers to the district collectors including the power to veto the resolutions adopted by the Panchayat. "
He added that the elected representatives will be deprived of their powers and the district collectors will be given much more power which is totally against the law. He also gave a call to all the Sarpanchs to fight against this GO which deprives them all the power and go ahead legally against the government.
