Recently a delegation of Telugu people from the neigh bouring state of Tamil Nadu met Governor Narasimhan urging his immediate intervention and more so, that of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu towards their plight in TN. They have stated how they are facing worst discrimination in years.

Seshachalam encounter

It is a known fact that relations between AP and TN reached a sore point after the Seshachalam encounter leading to the death of 20 laborers from Tamil Nadu. Although Naidu downplayed this issue, by giving a customary reply to TN CM Panneer Selvam, the issue is still burning there with antiTelugu feelings all over.

In fact, Telugus and Teluguorigin people constitute for more than 35% of TN and due to Mullaperiyar Dam and Cauvery issue, TN people don’t enjoy that friendly relations with Kerala and Karnataka as much as they do with Telugu people. But last month’s event has put this equation in jeopardy.

requesting Naidu to take immediate confidence

There has been a strong ant-Telugu and anti-AP sentiment in TN which is brewing like never before and this is worrying Telugus there. They feel Naidu has a sense of responsibility towards them as much as he has towards Telugus of Telangana as it is also a separate state. They are requesting Naidu to take immediate confidence building measures tore move the stigma right away before it assumes disastrous tone.
