Preparations are made in brisk pace for “Bhoomi Puja” on June 06th in CRDA villages for AP’s new capital. AP Government has a plan to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for foundation stone in this Dusserra for constructing new Capital of Andhra Pradesh. Minister Narayana said that first phase of the construction will be completed by 2019. Secretariat, Assembly, Raj Bhavan and MLA quarters are comes under first phase of Capital construction.

Government was making efforts to promote IT/ITES sector in Vijayawada and Amaravati region by offering various kinds of sops. In Vijayawada, 12 IT and ITES were doing 15 crore annual business at STPI which was set up around 13K sq.ft on the premises of Government Polytechnic College. This small space is not enough to cater employment opportunities in IT/ITES sector in capital region.
STPI is proposed to construct One lakh square feet area in the city for IT/ITES sector. As per buzz, that proposed IT tower would construct on the lines of Cyber Towers at HITECH City in Hyderabad. STPI had already called for tenders for the construction of Cyber Towers either in Vijayawada or in Amaravati. STPI predicts that growth in IT/ITES sector will take another two years in 2017 in AP capital region.
