Nominated Anglo Indian MLA Stephenson of Telangana Assembly faced a first and infact a major setback today in the ongoing note for vote scam involving TDP leader Revanth Reddy. Sources say that this is a significant setback for Telangana CM KCR’s game plan as well on this issue.

It is known that Muthayya is the A-4 who has been accused in this scandal and currently he is in Vijayawada where he had complained of being blackmailed by Telangana government to give statements against Revanth Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu. The high court had stayed his arrest.

Stephenson contested this decision by Hyderabad high court

Stephenson contested this decision by Hyderabad high court (common court of AP & TS) and petitioned the court requesting that this decision be now shifted to another bench. There were direct attacks against this bench saying it had other judges (read, Seemandhra) who may be biased.

Such statements against judges itself is a serious offence and in this regard the court not only disqualified and dismissed his petition but also started proceedings against Stephenson himself on charges of violating court orders and lowering the authority of the court. Moreover, Muthayya also faces no arrest in the Telangana ACB case.
