Congress party has never been in such a pitiable position in Telugu speaking states. Chandrababu’s development mantra or NTR wave couldn’t
dislodge the grand old party from its cadre. It bounced back each time it fell down and this was due to the strength of its cadre in United
AP, which was widely backed with strong leaders.
Naidu managed TDP
However just like how Naidu managed TDP’s comeback for second consecutive tenure in the year 1999, it was YSR who pedaled congress
to victory for second consecutive time after 2004, in 2009. Such was his charisma that he solely swept Telangana as senior leaders shied
from campaigning as they felt without Telangana announcement, Congress will not again at all.
No matter what controversies or corruption charges where, some of his welfare schemes touched the lives of millions of families and inspite
of all troubles, even to this day if Jagan can dream about CM chair,it is his father’s deeds that struck a chord with people after Naidu’s
over confident rule.
YSR faced his set of troubles
Although YSR faced his set of troubles till paadayathra earned him maximum limelight within Congress, nevertheless Congress party , be it
in Telangana or AP, it now needs a strong leader who is also a crowd puller. Sonia has to realize that this is not –re-1982 situation where
there was no alternative than Congress. Today there are many alternatives to Congress than TDP!
