Till yesterday, everyone thought that Vijayawada and Guntur (37.6 km) cities were developed like Hyderabad and Secunderabad. But Singapore Government who proposed Seed Capital Plan to AP Government thinks differently. As per the plan, Vijayawada and newly constructed Amaravathi (39.8 km) turns to be developed as Twin Cities. Singapore plan proposed to join Amaravathi (right side of Krishna River) with Vijayawada (Left side of Krishna) by constructing 5 bridges across the river.
At the time of construction of Acharya Nagarjuna University, everyone thinks that Vijayawada and Guntur will developed as twin cities. Even after decades, real estate ventures not developed between two cities. The gap is still continuing between Vijayawada and Guntur. After government announced the new capital among Tadepalli, Tullur and Mangalagiri mandals, Amaravathi gets gratitude.
New proposed High Speed rail and High way would start from Amaravathi towards Vijayawada. Seed Plan also proposed the construction of the Gate Way for the capital towards Vijayawada. As per Singapore plan, one should reach to Gannavaram Airport from Amaravathi through Vijayawada within 30 minutes. Capital city extends 391 kms among three mandals in Guntur and two mandals in Krishna district. Singapore believed that Guntur is considered as regional centre in Capital region.
