Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu right from the beginning planned to celebrate Godavari pushkarams in a grand manner. He invited President Pranab Mukherjee, PM Narendra Modi, Union Ministers and top BJP leaders.

AP Government estimated that more than 10 union ministers and top leaders at national level will be attending the pushkarams. They even made arrangements for them at the pushkarams. Government is extremely disappointed with coalition partner BJP not reciprocating the gesture and many started questioning why BJP stayed away from pushkarams.
This because many people thronged and had pushkar bath exceeding the expectations of AP Government's 4crs people. Sources in BJP say they have their own reasons as their party has national presence.
They felt
that if they reciprocated Chandrababu's gesture, their party leaders in
Telangana would have tough time in answering the questions from the other
parties in Telangana. Insiders reveal that Union Ministers felt that it do not
send right signal by going to Andhra Pradesh and Ignoring Telangana and so they
stayed away from the pushkarams.
