A bumper majority in Lok Sabha but mismanagement of strategy has resulted in a huge first such setback for Prime Minister  of India,Narendra Modi's economic agenda. According to national media, the NDA government will reportedly withdraw each and every change it had actually made for the existing laws on acquiring farm land for industry.

Modi-led government is expected withdraw

Sources say that Modi-led government is expected withdraw  all the amendments that was made the law passed in the year 2013 by the previous Congress-led UPA government. This is reportedly based on the recommendations of a  parliamentary committee which had studied the proposal.

Unable to pass this in Rajya Sabha, Modi government is reportedly using the shield of parliamentary committee to hide its defeat at the hands of a meek opposition. The government has used a series of ordinances to introduce new rules, but again finally the parliament's consent is required.

Now it is upto the individual states to pass their own set of land acquisition laws for business-friendly land reforms, according to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. So the government led by Modi has blinked on its flagship land acquisition bill, which was widely condemned as anti farmer. Now Rahul is all set to claim victory, as hehad vowed not to allow Modi to move forward on this issue.
