MIM party always courted controversies thanks to the vitriolic and highly controversial statements made by Owaisi brothers Asauddin and Akbarudddin. They may claim that their party is for secularism and is not against any religion especially majority Hindus but most of the time they spew venom on Hindus.

Apart from it they even make controversial statements questioning judiciary and supporting terrorists citing Babri Masjid demolition as an excuse. According to the latest Asauddin Owaisi supported Aurangazeb vis a vis Bharat Ratna, people's president Abdul Kalam who passed away recently.
Government decided to name Aurangazeb road in Delhi after Abdul Kalam as a mark of respect to the great soul. However much to the shock of everyone, he expressed his views against the decision. He cited Home Minister Rajnath Singh's earlier statement in the parliament of not changing any old names.
He said this decision is against Union Home Ministry's directive. He said tribute for Abdul Kalam could be paid in other ways like promoting education.
