Joining companies like Xiaomi and Gionee, now  sources say that Taiwanese electronics giant ASUS would be soon entering into Andhra Pradesh by collaborating with Foxconn for manufacture of its smartphones in the state.

ASUS made an announcement regarding `Making in India' by means of its partner Foxconn at the integrated business city of Sri City, straddling Nellore and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. The company would be commencing Indian manufacturing operations for two smart phones -Zenfone 2 Laser and ZenFone Go ­which were launched last month. 


ASUS is reportedly planning to manufacture 1.5 lakh smart phones every month in India by the end of 2015, which accounts for nearly 80% of its sales in India.  The company feels India is a huge opportunity since smart phone penetration is only 10%.
 

The company is also excited to announce its local manufacturing facility which caters to the growing demands of market. It is definitely a news to cheer for Andhra Pradesh which has been attracting many investments.
