No one can forget that euphoria surrounding the household survey in Telangana which refuses to die down even after more than one year. The Intensive Household Survey was conducted by Telangana government in August 2014 for one day soon after KCR was made Chief Minister.

People from even far-off countries like USA, Gulf etc rushed to Telangana to make sure that they enroll for this survey with a fear that in case they fail to enroll, they may considered as non-locals. They also felt loss of their properties because the enrolment form featured columns relating to movable as well immovable assets.

However, even after one year later no one is aware about the fate of this survey. Well now the TS government has again reportedly issued a GO for conducting house-to-house enumerations from November 16 to December 15.

Rumours of identifying local and non-locals spread like a wildfire before the Intensive Household survey. The government offered a clarification that it was done on the instructions of Centre and doesn’t relate to TS government’s own survey. Now the talk of one more survey is all set to raise hackles.
