After Pune massacre, Team India now seems to be eyeing on Bengaluru test that is to begin on Saturday. The Virat men are working hard to bounce back from the debacle loss against the Australians. If they win the second test, only then their hopes to win the series will stay alive. The Men-In-Blue are plotting a game plan to win the Bengaluru test.

 In 2001 when Australia toured India, it won the first test by 10 wickets. The match was played at Mumbai’s Wankhade stadium. The Aussies beat the then Indian team led by Ganguly. Immediately India retaliated with a 171 runs victory over the visitors in the second test played at the Eden grounds.

Australians made a massive score of 445 runs and team India was all out for 171 runs thus playing the follow on. Australia thought of winning with an innings but their plan failed as Laxman and Dravid played a record knock.

 Laxman and Dravid’s 374 run partnership wiped off the visitors plans of winning the test. Laxman scored 281 and Dravid shined with 180 runs. Thus India declaring at 657 runs and gave the visitors a target of 384 runs. Australia could not withstand in front of the Indian spin bowling becoming all out for 212 runs. India won the second test and then went on to win the third test thus winning the series.

Will that scene be repeated after 16 years by the Virat led Indian team is the question now.In 2001 Steve waugh led the Aussie team and now Steve Smith is leading the current side. When it comes to India the dashing captain Saurav Ganguly the side while the dashing batsman Virat kohli is leading the Young side. So one have to wait and see if the 16 year old history repeats or not.
