Just when Trivandrum was expected to be the 50th Venue to host a game in India, it was expected that the match to be abandoned without a ball being bowled. However, the exceptional drainage system helped to have an 8-over game.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl on a sticky surface where the ball gripped and turned. Indian batsmen struggled right from the start to score freely. Some mindblowing fielding from Kiwis, especially Santner helped India to keep under 70.

India just managed 67/5 at the end of 8 overs. However, India proved they are the best in the business when it comes to Bowling. Bumrah and Chahal ensured, the Kiwis are kept under the wraps. Bumrah bowled 2 overs for 9 runs and Chahal bowled 2 overs for just 8 runs.

In the end, New Zealand just managed 61/6 and lost to India by 6 runs. Ironically, they lost the ODI's decider also by the same margin. Jasprit Bumrah was given both Man of the Match and Man of the Series.
