Sri Lanka who got whitewashed by Pakistani's in ODI's is going to have a change of captain for the 7th time in 2017. They have opted Thisara Perera to lead the team in ODI and T20I's. Thisara Perera will replace Upul Tharanga in the shorter format of the game.
This is the first time Perera is going to be the captain of the team. Earlier, Angelo Mathews, Lasith Malinga, Rangana Herath, Dinesh Chandimal, Tharanga and Chamara Kapugedera were given the responsibility. After handing over the responsibility, Perera said,
"The goal for each one of us is to bring glory to our country. This must be clearly stated. I can confidently say that although India is currently best in the world in all three formats if you compare each player of our team with any player in the world [not only India] we are on par with the best of the best."
