Indian Skipper Virat Kohli has moved 3 places higher and gets to the second rank in the latest ICC rankings for the Test Batsmen. He is already in 1st Rank in ODI's and T20I's. But in Tests, he is behind Aussies Skipper Steven Smith and is still trailing by 45 points.
Only Ricky Ponting has grabbed the honors of getting the 1st Rank across all the formats. Kohli who started the test Series against Sri Lanka with a duck, scored a hundred and back-to-back double hundreds later. Kohli stays in 2nd spot with 893 points, while Smith who is on 1st rank stays with 938 points.
Sri Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal also broke into the Top 10 for the first time in his career as he made 366 runs in the series against India. He is ranked at 9 currently. David Warner, Joe Root is staying behind Kohli right now.
