Microsoft has finally launched a pair of Lumia smartphones running Windows 10 operating system in India. As promised, the global software giant has launched two of their much-awaited smartphones namely Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL in India on Monday, i.e., November 30. Beyond the significant high-end specifications that describe the flagship moniker, this pair of Lumia devices offers an entirely unique concept when it comes to personal digital productivity. Microsoft has launched both the smartphones in its Lumia series aiming the business executives who can use the smartphone as a desktop or a laptop computer. 


Microsoft’s Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL smartphones will certainly become a preferred business handset for executives which actually replace your personal computer or laptop. Both the devices launched by the Microsoft have got enough processes to dazzle any Windows 10 lover wherein the key attraction has to be the Display Dock. One of the impressive features of both the Lumia devices is Display Dock through which you can easily convert these new smartphones into a full-fledged PC running Windows 10, thanks to Continuum. Display: The Microsoft Lumia 950 features a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 565 ppi. Processor: The Lumia 950 is powered by Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 clocked at 1.8GHz while the larger 950 XL packs in a 64-bit Octa-core 2GHz Snapdragon 810. Both the devices feature 3GB of RAM. 


Operating System: The Lumia 950 and 950 XL are the first devices to run Microsoft’s Windows 10 out of the box. Both devices feature almost the same hardware so one can also expect a similar experience. Both the devices come with pre-loaded universal apps.


Storage: On the Storage front, both the Lumia handsets comes with a 32GB storage variant which can be further expandable up to 2TB  via microSD card slot.


Camera: Both the devices come with 20MP rear snapper with triple LED flash and a fifth generation Optical Image Stabilization. Both devices comes with a dedicated camera button for capturing quick photos and both the devices comes with a 5MP front-facing camera that can capture selfies with high picture quality. It also supports 4K and slow motion video recording.

Price and Availability

Microsoft has launched a pair of new smartphones – Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL in India. The Lumia 950 is priced at Rs 43,699 while the Lumia 950 XL comes in at a shade under the half-lakh mark at Rs 49,399. Raghuvesh Sarup, Director of Marketing, Mobile Devices, Microsoft India said that there will be lower-priced options in te future.


Both the handsets come with dual sim variants and will go on sale starting December 11 exclusively via Amazon India, Reliance Digital stores, and Microsoft Priority sellers. As long as the stock last, users who pre-order the devices will get a Display Dock free worth Rs 5999. The camera quality of both the handsets is simply marvellous.
