Bharath Krishna, marketing and IT professional debuts with his fiction novel ‘Guy on the Sidewalk’. The book, published by CinnamonTeal Publishing, looks very promising and a quick glance through it will leave the reader looking for more. Its worldwide digital release, across social media forums, is scheduled for 10th March 2016.

The author is a graduate in agriculture with double master’s degree in management, and has years of professional experience in marketing, teaching and IT in India and the United States. While Bharath had a flair for writing as a child, it was much later that his talent was realized and appreciated, ultimately leading to this novel. If the reader is intrigued by the title, Bharath has a good reason for it.

“Sidewalk is a metaphor I used to mean something that’s not Main Street or real world, from which this guy (the protagonist) keeps a safe distance without facing it head on, until he does just that one day,” says the author describing his protagonist, Jay.The story is set in India and America, as Jay goes through an emotional roller coaster when he leaves his country, India, for a better place, America, only to realize that the best place for him might just be home.

The essence of the story in Bharath’s own words: “I tried to capture contemporary elements like the life of NRIs, return to India, the changing pattern of relationships and an individual’s responsibility towards parents and the country.” While the diasporic experience has long been a theme dear to Indian writers, the author believes that this isn’t just another run-of-the-mill story. The publishers are excited for the book, given the expectations it has garnered
