Ingredients
250 gms prawns
100ms chana
2 cups thick tamarind juice
Half cup madras onions
One tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp salt
For Seasoning
One fourth cup oil
Half tsp fenugreek seeds
3-4 red chilies, crushed
Half tsp mustard seeds
Method
1.Wash and soak the chana overnight.
2. Wash, shell and devein the prawns. Drain thoroughly.
3.Place the chana and tamarind juice in a container of the cooker and pressure cook for ten minutes.
4.Place the prawns and the Madras onions in the container of the cooker and steam for five minutes.
5.Heat oil in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients. Stir in the cooked chana and steamed prawns and onions.
6.Add garam masala powder and salt. Cook on a high flame for 3-4 minutes. Mix the contents thoroughly and remove from fire.
7.Serve hot, garnished with chopped coriander leaves and onion slices with steamed rice or chapatti.
