Sources have stated that a revenue inspector of Karnataka has committed suicide last evening, at his home in Srinagar area of South Bengaluru. The family of H C Srinivas, 40, a revenue officer of Bengaluru civic body BBMP, has alleged that that frequent transfer and harassment by a corporator had pushed him to take the extreme step. In a span of one month he has been transferred twice against the established norms, the family said.
Bengaluru sources have stated that Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the Cauvery water dispute by convening a meeting of the Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.
