India's scooter rental apps now own more than 15,000 vehicles, reveals a study by German electric scooter manufacturer Unu. Also, india now leads the global scooter-sharing market, further claims the study.

 

bengaluru leads the country's scooter rental fleet with two large scooter sharing apps based in the city, which are Bounce and Vogo. It describes bengaluru as the global scooter sharing capital. According to the study, India's fleet of scooters available for rent is higher than the US and many european countries. Cities like Madrid, paris and Barcelona have less than half of the number of scooters the south indian city has. While Madrid has 6,350 units of rental scooters, paris and Barcelona have 6,300 and 4,600 units.

 

Bounce and Vogo have a fleet of more than 7,000 units each. In december 2018, shared mobility provider ola invested in Vogo, while Bounce received $75 million funding from Falcon Edge and B capital earlier this year. With these fundings, the companies have scaled up their operations.
