Accordingly Finance minister nirmala sitharaman tuesday said the Narendra Modi-led nda government has spent over Rs 50 lakh crore on infrastructure in the past six years. Addressing a press conference, nirmala sitharaman said, "In last six years, there has been an investment of around Rs 50 lakh crore in infrastructure."

 

She said infrastructure investment (in power, railways, irrigation, education, health, wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital, urban, mobility, water) forms the bulk of the projects in the pipeline. Speaking about future plans to attract foreign investment, nirmala sitharaman said, "An annual global investors' meet will be organised in the second half of 2020."

 

Referring to PM Modi's Independence Day speech, nirmala sitharaman said in his speech the prime minister spoke about a task force for India's infrastructure development. "Today, the task force has identified Rs 102 lakh crore worth of projects, after conducting 70 stakeholder consultations in a short period of four months. These projects are spread across 21 ministries and 18 states and Union Territories."
