SmartPlay— an Aricent company unites with APR Charitable Trust (ACT) in conducting the Trust’s fifth annual fundraiser event, the SmartPlay APR Marathon. 3000 participants are expected, many of whom are running or walking 21K, 10K or 5K on November 22nd, 2015 at Adarsh Palm Retreat (APR), Devarabisanahalli, Sarjapur – Marathahalli. The intent behind this event is to engage APR residents, other Bangalore communities and corporates to raise funds for social causes benefitting the underprivileged in greater Bangalore. The three core areas that ACT supports: Women’s Empowerment, Education, and Health/ Hygiene. The vision of the Trust: No underprivileged child should do the work of her domestic help or daily wage parents.
This mega event is organized by the APR Charitable Trust (ACT), mobilizing more than seventy APR resident volunteers including ACT Trustees, and is funded by thirty one sponsors, including SmartPlay, Adarsh Developers and HCLT Foundation. The APR Charitable Trust has raised nearly INR 36 lacs. This will be one of Bangalore’s largest running events, witnessing participation nearing 3,000 people within the Adarsh Palm Retreat premise. Additionally, this event is combined with fun elements like corporate and community—participated Volley Ball, Cricket, Badminton tournaments, children’s cultural programs, and installation of stalls and bands, as a fun re-treat for participants and family.
A segment of the Marathon, the ‘Walk for a Cause’ will feature 250 participants and 13 organizations/ NGO’s, many of whom ACT supports. The walk will be led by Sushruthi Krishna, Femina Miss India 2015 top 21 finalists and Nutricharge Miss Active.
