The technology leaders from Indian Banking, Financial Services and Insurance industry attended the 4thEdition BFSI India Conclave that successfully concluded on 26 – 27 May 2016 at Alila Diwa in Goa.

 

This two-day event has been a proven business-to-business platform connecting global leaders in technology solutions with the technology heads and C – suite decision makers from BFSI industry. Organised by Trescon one of India's leading full service B2B event management company with offices in Bengaluru, Dubai, Turkey, Prague and London, the event was conducted in a hosted – delegate format with a thoughtfully woven agenda.

 

The conclave featured interactive panel discussions, think tank tech talks, high level keynote presentations, pre-scheduled one-to-one business meetings and brainstorming open floor discussions — all in a focused 5-star business-to-business environment.

 

60 Chief Executive Officers, Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, Chief Information Security Officers and technology heads from BFSI industry in India gathered to discuss current technology trends and challenges as well as shared their best practices that will lead the industry to a promising future.

 

The conclave commenced with the opening remarksby the ChairpersonDr. Paritosh Basu, Senior Professor at School of Business Management - NMIMS Universityon Thursday evening. He also addressed the attendees with his opening keynote address on ‘Digital Transformation in BFSI through technological innovation’. This was followed by an interesting panel discussion on ‘Understanding the growing business needs of BFSI players that lead to the adoption of new IT infrastructure’ which was moderated by Dr. Paritosh Basu and the panelists included Harish Sharma, Group Vice President & Head (IT) at Toyota Financial Services, Mohan Vizhakat, Group Chief Technology Officer at Manappuram Finance, Yazdi Tantra, Chairman (IT Committee) at Zoroastrian Co-Op Bank.

 

Day one concluded with pre-scheduled one-to-one business meetings between the attending delegates and technology providers followed by networking dinner.

 

Dr. Paritosh Basu from NMIMS University, presented the opening remarks on day two of the event followed by a keynote on‘DevOps++ for Financial Services', presented by Pallab Bhattacharya, Vice President Business Excellence & Transformation at Edelweiss Financial Services. The key take away from this was ‘The context & Today’s challenges to drive innovation’.

 

Emphasizing information security, Jude Pereira, Managing Director at Nanjgel Soluions – Gold sponsor- presented a tech talk highlighting ‘Paradigm Shift in IT Security – ‘CYBERSEC AUTOMATION’. Mr. Jude also moderated a panel discussion for the CISO Leaders topic of which was ‘Importance of building a security strategy that will help build trust in the digital world for the BFSI sector’ and was participated by Nabankur Sen, Chief Information Security Officer at Bandhan Bank, Aroon Hingorani, Vice President Information Technology at Anand Rathi Group, Rajendra Bhalerao Chief Information Security Officer at Fullerton India Credit Company and Dr. Paritosh Basu, Senior Professor at School of Business Management -NMIMS University. This was followed by tech talk on ‘Information Security Challenges in Modern Day Banking’ by Gaurav Mahendru, Solutions Architect at Trend Micro - Cyber security partner.

 

After refreshments there were quick presentations by all other solution providers on the dais. These elevator pitches were delivered by Nitin Ingoley, Senior Director at Ameyo; Sanjeeb Kalita, Chief Revenue Officer at Ezetap Mobile Solutions, Manish Gupta, General Manager & Country Head at Liferay India, Vishal Arora, Director – Sales (South India & SAARC) at Seclore, Kumar P. Saha, Managing Director & CEO at Senrysa Technologies and Vivek Gupta, Worldwide Vice President - Cloud Services at Trianz. This was followed by another session of power-packed one to one meetings and then the luncheon.

 

A keynote presentation on ‘BFSI Today – Driven by Data Analytics’ byManoj Mishra, Vice President Technology at Magma Fincorp preceded to an interactive panel discussion on ‘The Future of Digital Banking – working towards a vision for 2020’ that was moderated by the chairperson and the panelists were K. V. Dipu, President & Head (Operations) at Bajaj Allianz, Nitin Bhandari, Vice President – Digital Payments Business at Reliance Jio; Topendra Bhattacharjee, Head of Digital Banking at RBL Bank. This was followed by keynote presentation on ‘Leveraging technology for digital transformation’ by Mr. K.V Dipu, then pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings and then evening refreshments.

 

The event concluded with the closing remarks by the chairperson Dr. Paritosh Basu from NMIMS University - which was preceded by an open floor discussion was a distinctive brainstorming activity, followed by a cocktail dinner reception.
