Former Indian cricket team Captain was disheartened when he was disqualified in 2017 owing to some controversies, but he made sensational comeback to win HCA elections this year. 

Former Indian captain Mohd. Azharuddin is new President of HCA (hyderabad cricket association), he won the election by thumping majority held in rajiv gandhi cricket stadium yesterday. He was disqualified in 2017 due to some controversies, he trounced his rival Prakash Jain by 74 votes to be the new boss of HCA in 2019, he got 147 votes compared to his rival, who just managed 73 votes. 
 
 To maintain transparency in the election process as recommended by Lodha committee, the election were held under supervision of former chief election commissioner VS Sampath. 
 As per Lodha committee recommendation, Azharuddin was eligible for contesting elections as former international, many former international players from the city participated as voters for first time. 

The panel won six post, five office bearers and one councilor, John Manoj was elected as vice-president, R. vijay Anand was elected as  secretary, Naresh sharma won the post of joint secretary, while Surender Agrawal won treasurer post. P. Anuradha become first woman to win election as councilor.
